Welcome to maison Tillane. Put your feet up, make yourself at home. Try to ignore the slightly deranged rantings emanating from the main house...
The homeowner is an English civil servant and would-be science fiction writer. Most of the time he's pretty reasonable company; he welcomes new friendlings, and is more than happy to enter into a discourse with his neighbours on more or less any topic that takes their fancy. He does have a short fuse when it comes to spammers, phishers, time wasters and people who don't like Nick Cave and/or science fiction, but for the most part he'll keep his frustrations down to a few terse comments. His blunderbuss has seen little use in recent...um...days.
In his quiet moments, Tillane does his best to scribble down short stories and novels (two of the latter so far, neither published). He listens to music incessantly, and has frequently been reminded by his neighbours that playing Modest Mouse at full blast after midnight isn't really acceptable. On weekends, he splits his time between writing and consuming alcohol while watching live bands. He has been heard to refer to modern television as "that mammon-thing in the corner of the room", though he does enjoy CSI, NCIS and other acronymic shows. He also enjoys wilfully violent films like Kill Bill 1 & 2, as well as wilfully foreign ones like Oldboy and Ran.
